Celebrated novelist and filmmaker Paul Auster visits the Crane House on Sunday afternoon, November 20, for a very special event in observance of the 151st anniversary of Stephen Crane’s birth. Auster will read from and discuss BURNING BOY, his acclaimed study of Crane’s life and work, here in the seaside resort cottage where the future creator of the classic novel THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE first endeavored to find his writer’s voice. Presented in partnership with our friends at the member-owned Asbury Book Co-Op, the 3:00 pm program will also include a meet and greet/ signing session with the Brooklyn-based author of The New York Trilogy, The Music of Chance, and numerous other works of fiction and nonfiction.
Seating is limited and masks are required for this event at The Stephen Crane House (508 Fourth Avenue in AP), with donations accepted for the nonprofit Society to Protect Journalists, and advance tickets ($30; includes paperback signing copy of BURNING BOY) available on Eventbrite.
