Readings from Edgar Allan Poe dedicated to Tom Chesek

The program on Thursday, October 26th at the Stephen Crane House in Asbury Park will be dedicated to Tom Chesek, the former curator of the Crane House and organizer of all the programs there, who died suddenly earlier this year. The evening will include readings of “The Tell-Tale Heart” (1843), “Annabel Lee” (1849), Poe’s most famous poem, “The Raven” (1845), and a screening of a film based upon a Poe story: “The Premature Burial”. We will end the evening with light refreshments. Typically, we have not asked for donations, but for this event we are asking for a minimum of $10. Half of all the money collected will be given to the Asbury Park Historical Society and the other half will go to the Asbury Park Museum with Kay Harris as its president. Tom was very passionate about the success of that endeavor. Asbury Park’s Stephen Crane House is at 508 Fourth Avenue. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the program begins at 6:30 PM.
