A “Readings from Asbury Park” program, in which a diverse group of voices from the contemporary city scene pay homage to Asbury-connected authors, journalists, songwriters and poets of bygone eras. Presented by the AP Historical Society as part of the inaugural North 2 Shore Festival, this event brings together such celebrated wordsmiths as acclaimed author Daniel Wolff (Fourth Of July, Asbury Park), award-winning novelist Wallace Stroby, playwright Marjorie Conn, and numerous chroniclers of the contemporary cityscape, all sharing their own words, while paying tribute to such vintage voices as Pulitzer-winning poet Margaret Widdemer, West Side activist Rev. J.F. Robinson, VOGUE editor Edna Woolman Chase, legendary broadcaster Lowell Thomas, and, of course, Stephen Crane!
